Description
Louis Erard continues to reinvent traditional métiers d'art with this second-hand guilloché dial. Guilloché is no longer a matter of decoration, but a subject in itself: a large diamond, an ace of diamonds, with a tactile sensation. It is no longer a question of revisiting an old aesthetic, but of putting the technique at the service of a contemporary composition.
The engraving required all the dexterity of the guillotine, as the craftsman produces the 99 components piece by piece, each of them requiring several hours of work on the hand lathe. Not to mention the engineers, who had to invent and manufacture new cams to achieve this unprecedented result.
