A hero returns – Tissot adds eight new models to the popular PRX line, including a chronograph and a new 35mm case
Le Locle, February 18, 2022 The introduction of the Tissot PRX last year was a commercial and critical success. Now, Tissot is ready to open the next exciting chapter in its story. The stylish line will be joined by new automatic models with luxurious gold bezels, a state-of-the-art automatic chronograph and a new expression of the design with a 35mm case for both men and women, directly inspired by the 1978 original .

The power of gold
Headlining the new PRX line of Swiss Made luxury watches will be two 40mm versions of the PRX Automatic, both featuring brushed steel cases and 18K solid gold fluted bezels. The pair will be powered by the high-performance Powermatic 80 movement, which combines an anti-magnetic Nivachron™ hairspring with an 80-hour power reserve. One model will have a brown dial, the other a blue dial, both with a sunburst satin finish.

For each wrist
Tissot fans around the world have praised the PRX for its design, sense of proportion and the way it faithfully revives a much-loved Tissot classic. But for some potential wearers, the launch collection models were too big. So this year, Tissot will launch a new collection of five PRX models with 35mm satin steel cases, all powered by quartz movements. The variety will come in the available dial color palette. There will be four steel models with either a silver, blue, green or light blue dial, and another steel model with a yellow gold PVD-plated case and bracelet and a yellow-gold dial. This collection perfectly captures the essence and exact dimensions of the 1978 original on which PRX's retro design is based, as well as the unisex watch trend. It will no doubt add to the model's rapidly expanding international fan base.

Stop and start in style
Until now, the PRX has only been available with time and date functions, but the line will now be joined by the high-functioning PRX automatic chronograph. This 42mm satin-finish steel watch will follow the sleek, angular shape of the PRX, adding to the laid-back sports watch style of the 1970s with a so-called "reverse panda" dial, where white sub-dials are arranged on a background contrasting black. The PRX automatic chronograph will be powered by the Valjoux caliber A05.H31, which will give the design the classic 3, 6 and 9 chronograph dial and an extended 60-hour power reserve.
