Albini Prassa – Tissot's sole distributor in Romania launches the Tissot U16 Rugby Trophy at Gura Humorului

Albini Prassa – distribuitor unic Tissot în România lansează la Gura Humorului Tissot U16 Rugby Trophy

Albini Prassa started its activity in Romania in 2004, as a distributor of Swiss Made watches. At the moment, the sole distributor in Romania of the Tissot brand represents an important component in the development of Romanian rugby. All the more so, since in recent years a limited edition of the Tissot Stejarii watch was also launched in Romania, marking a first collaboration of this kind between a Swiss manufacturer and a sports federation from here - the Romanian Rugby Federation.

"We are extremely pleased with the response of the teams for this project. With the Tissot U16 trophy we want to strengthen the rugby communities we support, create new synergies and provide our future rugby generations with memorable moments. This project will consist of 20 matches over the course of the 21/22 season, with the 10 return legs being staged over a full rugby weekend all together in Spring 2022. Based on feedback from the teams, we hope that we will open the Trophy to more teams or more age groups in the future. "Ion Schiau, founder of Albini Prassa.

The event in Gura Humorului will kick off some U16 rugby matches that will take place until the summer of 2022, when all the participating teams will meet to play in the final of the trophy. This started campaign comes as a response to the lack of rugby matches for juniors, in the context of the pandemic. The main link that unites the teams participating in this trophy is the support they receive from Albini Prassa. At the moment there are 5 (five) teams registered in the tournament, namely: Gura Humorului School Sports Club, Warriors Timişoara, CS Aurora Băicoi, CSU Rugby Alba Iulia and RC Griviţa. During the tournament, matches will be played between the participating teams, hosted in different locations around the country – these matches will set the scene for the summer of 2022 when all the teams will meet to compete for the trophy. The sponsor of the events will encourage all the players with small gifts, and at the end of the tournament the best players from each team will be awarded with Tissot watches.

"I welcomed this initiative and I am glad that we, those from Gura Humorului, will be the ones to start the Tissot U16 Rugby Trophy. We have always said that for us, rugby is more than a sport, it is a way of life and promotes, above all, the spirit of community and friendship. These values are the basis of all rugby projects at Gura Humorului and here, thanks to the goodwill of our partners at Tissot Romania, we are laying another foundation stone for the development of Romanian rugby .” conveys Gabriela Popescu, the president of the Te Aud Romania Foundation – the entity involved in the organization of this stage from Gura Humorului.

Driven and united by the same spirit of values that consecrated the oval ball sport, our common mission transcends beyond the score written on the scoreboard, statistics and positions in the ranking. We all have a common mission - namely, to support youth through sport and contribute to the long-term development of rugby.

"In the last year, these children had very few matches. This event comes as a breath of fresh air for the juniors from the Gura Humorului School Sports Club. We have tried throughout this period to encourage them and keep them close to rugby; but in the absence of matches - it becomes quite difficult. We would like to thank all those involved in the organization of this tournament and we look forward to meeting the other participating teams in the field," says Mr. Florin Nistor, the director of the Gura Humorului Sports Club the U16 team.
